We are a traditional hill farm employing traditional shepherding techniques to run our hefted flock of North Country Cheviot sheep.

We have farmed at Effgill since 1968 and are one of the few hill farms in the area to still work in the age old ways using a stick and dog approach rather than fences to keep our sheep on the land where they were raised.
